PALLIATIVE AND END OF LIFE CARE
WHAT IS PALLIATIVE CARE?
Palliative care is an holistic approach that aims to enhance the quality of life of patients and their families living with a life-threatening illness where they are no longer receiving curative treatment. Palliative care is multi-faceted, supporting not only the physical needs of the person but also their psychological, social and spiritual needs, and those of their family. Palliative and end of life care helps people who are in the last months or years of their life to live as well as possible and to die with dignity
